Charleston, SC Inshore

I worked a convention in Charleston earlier this week and took the opportunity to do a little inshore fishing while in town. My wife and daughter have never fished inshore so it was a real treat for them. My wife landed a 14 lb. red on a medium light rod with a little 2500 reel and 10 lb braid. It took a while and whipped her as bad as it did the fish. My daughter was able to catch her first redfish, black drum, speckled trout, flounder, and stingray. That's pretty much everything that swims there except for a sheeps head. We kept a few flounder for the table and released everything else. On the ride in we saw a flock of longbeards working down the beach. Our guide said that was the first time he'd ever seen turkeys on the salt. He's a turkey hunter as well so he keeps tabs on what's there.ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage
