About the National Wild Turkey Federation
The National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF), founded in 1973, is a national nonprofit organization and is a key player in promoting the habitat of the wild turkey. The organization, headquartered in Edgefield, S.C., is growing rapidly and currently has chapters in every state. In addition to improving turkey habitat, the NWTF sponsors several outreach programs including Women in the Outdoors, Wheelin’ Sportsmen and JAKES.
The annual membership is typically around $35 per year and includes a subscription to Turkey Country magazine and has several other benefits. One of my personal favorites is the entry into the NWTF Convention and Sports Show. At the event, you will get to see all the new gear from the manufactures, custom calls, and meet all of the TV personalities you see on your favorite hunting TV shows.
Here is a video of our trip to the 2012 Turkey Federation convention in Nashville, TN!
We’ll see you there in 2013! Be sure to stay on the lookout for other turkey hunting events!
